Patti Broadfoot - Owner/Director, Instructor, Competitive Choreographer

For over 25 years, Patti has been educating dancers at studios across Southwestern Ontario.  Her teaching career has reached as far as Europe guest teaching for a student/teacher exchange program.  In 2005, she opened "On Your Toes Performing Arts Centre" and it has become one of the fastest growing studios in the region.  In addition to being a successful Owner / Director, she is also an accomplished teacher and choreographer and is certified with the Royal Academy of Dance.  Her expertise extends across all disciplines of dance including: Modern, Jazz, Lyrical and Tap.  Her diversity of training also includes the of syllabus of: BATD, CDTA and ISTD.

 

Patti's students have successfully competed in dozens of dance competitions across Canada and the US.  In addition to their success at regional competitions, many have garnered national recognition as well.  They have performed with the Canadian National team in Germany as well as many students going into professional carreers in theatre, teaching and dance companies.Many  of her students have won numerous overall awards, some including top soloists for "Showstoppers" Regional competition going onto be featured in their opening number at their National Finals 4 years in a row.  Patti's award winning teaching and choreograhy has also produced many overall groups as well as "Most potential dancer 2009 & 2010". She and her students are sought after by teachers and choreographers.

 

Beyond the studio, Patti has used dance as an outreach in the community since her youth.  As a performer, she was part of the acclaimed show "From Folk to Funk".  She performed for dignitaries at the Labatt's Estate annual "Tea", the National Ballet of Canada and for school boards across Ontario.  She continues to use her arts leadership skills and dance training to choreograph and teach community and high school productions.  You may have seen her work in: "This Year Next Year" (ITOPA theatre); "Guys and Dolls" (St Mary's High School) and dance programs at various schools in OxfordCounty. Patti is committed to growing as an artist and actively pursues the latest artistic trends in dance and pedagogic methods.

Amanda Damaren - Instructor, Competitive Choreographer

Amanda is a passionate actor/dancer/singer rooted in Kitchener-Waterloo eager to expand her experience beyond her community. As a resident, she has been actively involved in community theatre by sharing her expertise and energy with young people in schools and non-profit organizations. Amanda is a graduate of the Eastwood Collegiate Integrated Arts Program under the direction of Janis Price. She graduated with an Arts diploma majoring in Dance as well as an Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Eastwood Collegiate provided Amanda with a foundation for dance, theatre and vocal training as well as opportunities to perform lead roles such as Jan in the musical Grease, as well as dance along side professional modern companies including Ballet Jorgen, Toronto Dance Theatre and David Earl. Amanda trained with Confidance Studio - Kitchener, QuinteBalletSchool - Belleville, O.I.P - Toronto and Metro Movement - Toronto. Amanda has received recognition for her choreography and creativity from several dance competitions. Amanda’s credits include Baxter, Being Erica, CampRock-The Final Jam, Get Up ‘N Move and High School Musical Family Channel Promotional Video. OYT is proud to have Amanda on our teaching staff 2010 – 2011.

Madelaine Massey - Karate & Hip Hop Instructor, Competitive Instructor

On Your Toes Performing Arts Centre welcomes Madelaine to our 2007 faculty. Madelaine has extensively studied Hip Hop as well as East Indian Dance, Filipino Folk Dance, and Theatre Dance. She has studied with various instructors including Ron Bedeau, Anwar Berry and Pony and Luther Brown.   Her studies have taken her from Toronto to New York and beyond.  She has was lead choreographer in many shows including "Talitha" New York, "Aloha Mischeaux", New York,. Her choreography and performances include "M & S", Mississauga, "Bollywood Dance Experience". "Serafina" and "Loyola Dance Crew" Toronto. She has performed for "Remixx Peformers", "F.A.T.E" in New York, "KAOS" "Toronto Raiders Football Dance Team Toronto, and  "CPO" in Mississauga. 2011  Madelaine opened her own Triple Threat Dance studio congratulations Maddy!!

Sarah Thomas - Instructor

Sarah has been teaching Jazz, Tap, and Hip Hop for the last 9 years. Sarah started her teaching career as an assistant and substitute teacher. She attended Dance Master’s of America’s Teachers Training School at the State University of New York, in Buffalo. She is certified in Jazz through DMA/CDMA. Sarah graduated from Fanshawe College as a Computer System Analyst in May 2006.  Miss Sarah special talent is teaching little ones dance, and we are thrilled to ahve her part of the OYT team since 2008.  2011 Miss Sarah started her own studio in Goderich! Congratulations Miss Sarah!!

Shelby Ludington- Junior Instructor

Shelby is an enthusiastic and talented junior instructor, she has been dancing since she was 3 years old and competes with the OYT competitive hip hop team!  She has also been an assistant instructor at OYT for since 2006 and a junior instructor since 2010.  She is a teacher that all the children adore and she really makes learning fun!

Alethea Franklin - Instructor, Competitive Choreographer

Alethea joined the OYT Team full time 2011.  This multi-talented teacher has studied with Luther Brown, Cirque de Soliet and more!  Her forte is Hip Hop and brings a fresh new style to the hip hop scene!

 

Michelle Lavier - Instructor, Competitive Choreographer

Michelle joined the OYT dance family in 2010.  Michelle teaches our acro program and is a tumbling coach extrodinaire! Her strong background, love of dance and enthusiasm in teaching children bring a wonderful mix to the classroom.
